Hello All,Greetings from Starkflow!We are hiring for a "Lead Technical Artist" for one of our direct client for a 100% remote role in Europe.Job Type: Full TimeJob Location: Europe & LATAM [Remote]Job Title: Lead Technical ArtistYOE: 6+ years [2+ years in leading teams] Job Description: The ideal candidate enjoys putting their skills and knowledge to use in a variety of styles. Your broader experience in game development and general technical art pipelines will help you work collaboratively with engineers, VFX artists, animators, and 3D artists to create an immersive and epic experience. Requirements: An accomplished technical artist with 6+ years of experience within the game industry, with 2+ years of experience as a Lead Technical Artist. Comprehensive knowledge of multiple major 3D packages (3DS Max or Maya, Photoshop, and Substance). Extensive working knowledge of Unreal and Unity game engines. Knowledge and experience with common scripting languages like Python and C#. Experience with performance and memory profiling within game engines. Solid knowledge of current and next-gen art techniques as well as fundamental art principles. Working knowledge of an asset management systems (ex : Perforce, VSS, Alienbrain) Thorough understanding of video game development, art processes, and production pipelines with experience working on different game genres across all platforms. Passionate about mentoring others to further develop their artistic and technical skill sets and are excited about managing, leading, and continuing to grow a world-class technical art team. A demonstrable commitment to creative collaboration within a team and with other departments. Hands-on experience with building and developing new Art tools is a plus. Experience with procedural content creation software like Houdini, Substance Suite also a plus. Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills. Professional working English proficiency. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Lead and mentor a team of technical artists, ensuring that each has clear, concrete tasks, goals, and regular constructive feedback. Regularly collaborate with the Art Leads to deliver the art vision within the project requirements. Partner with Art and Engineering throughout development to ensure all assets are functionally sound and optimized for engine/platform constraints. Brainstorm, R&D, and implement different project pipelines and toolsets. Partner closely with producers in helping delegate tasks, plan estimates, and arrange meetings as needed to ensure individuals' workloads are manageable and the team's deliverables can be completed on schedule. Work with clients in upholding their artistic vision and ensuring outgoing work is technically sound and meets technical standards. Explore opportunities to technically innovate, streamline tools and processes, and champion best practices for the team. Engage in technical and aesthetic problem-solving efforts through to completion. Support project content creation when needed. Stay on top of industry standards and identify new tools and technologies to improve content production. Help continue to expand the capabilities of the Technical Art team through training, team building, refinements of process and techniques, and candidate recruiting and hiring. Be proactive about elevating your team's concerns to the larger team and making sure that your discipline is well represented.
